Field Notes: Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Signs Ink and Pearl

Guiding Eyes latest signage project
Our signage project for Guiding Eyes for the Blind comes with a personal connection.
At Signs Ink, we get to know organizations through the work we create for them. With Guiding Eyes for the Blind, that connection goes a little deeper.
Our team fabricated and installed exterior and interior signage that brings the Guiding Eyes identity into its buildings and grounds. The project includes roadside identification, building signage, an interior logo display, and a photographic wall celebrating the organization’s elite breeding colony.
And among those featured dogs is a familiar face: Pearl, who is part of our Service and Install Manager Jim Polinsky’s family.
From the Roadside to the Interior
The exterior signage establishes a consistent identity before visitors step inside. A freestanding post and panel sign displays the Guiding Eyes logo, Canine Development Center name, and street number. Its blue border and white background organize the information into a clear, readable layout.
On the building, a logo and lettering installation sits prominently on the entrance gable, carrying that same identity onto the façade.
Inside, a clear rectangular logo panel is mounted away from the wall using four visible corner standoffs. The spacing adds depth and allows the blue logo and lettering to stand out against the light wall behind it.
The breeding colony display takes a more personal approach. Rows of dog portraits, individual identification captions, and the heading “Our Elite Breeding Colony” introduce visitors to the dogs behind the program.
Project Details
The signage shown in the project includes:
Roadside identification: A rectangular sign panel supported between two white posts, incorporating the organization’s logo, facility name, and street number.
Exterior building identification: A blue logo and lettering installation positioned above the entrance windows.
Interior branding: A clear logo display panel with four corner standoff mounts, creating separation between the sign face and wall.
Photographic recognition display: A coordinated arrangement of dog portraits and caption panels, accompanied by breeding colony identification and Guiding Eyes branding.
Together, these elements carry a consistent blue and white palette across different settings, while giving each sign a distinct job: identify the facility, welcome visitors, or tell part of its story.
And Then There’s Pearl
For Jim Polinsky and his family, the breeding colony display has special meaning.
Pearl is an elite breeding dog with Guiding Eyes and a much loved member of the Polinsky family. Our project video follows her from a small puppy to a grown dog, including her portrait in the colony display and a moment with the next generation.
Seeing Pearl featured brings a personal connection to the finished installation. She is part of the Guiding Eyes story, and part of our Signs Ink family, too.
We’re proud to have fabricated and installed this signage, and especially pleased to share the spotlight with Pearl.
